It depends on how strapped for cash the dealer is. Go the day before a big horse race.

Then again, they can need cash quick the day after the race sometimes too.

I was a dealer for about 12 years. 95% of my deals were cash. The remainder were with bank checks I could immediately turn into cash.

Most of my cars, I sold at the price on the window, Not a penny off.

Now, if a dealer jacks up their cars by 20%, they can come down 15% easy. But you are still overpaying.

20%min however i would expect at least 30%

here a trick make your offer about 30% less than asking price

the salesman will always come back and say they need another $300-$500

stand up and say you what to go and see another one down the street first

the salesman will say he will go and talk to the manager again and come back with a congratulations

just remember you have the cash

and they want the cash AND YOUR THE BOSS

Zero. The dealer actually makes more money writing a loan. You'll get no cash discount.

No such thing as a cash discount.

Why? Because whether you finance, lease or pay cash, dealers always get their money in full upfront from the bank. They would rather you finance or lease because then they get kickback bonuses from banks and also add on % to the rate to keep for themselves.

No expect anything. If your going to a dealer you can talk them down anyways. It's actually an advantage Because you wont have a payment to worry about. Remember dealers and private seller will price high because they know the buyer will offer less. Have fun. Sorry. Probably wasn't the asnswer you wanted. Have fun.
