A lot of grout went down tub drain during remodel. How do we clean it out?

The husband has used a snake, but with a machine to give it a lot of power. But, it doesn't work. Any suggestions? Is there anything that can loosen the grout up (grout thinner - or does that even exist?) and then try the snake. Or is there another method that he should consider?

Thanks in advance!

Grout is basically a cement mixture, so this could be a real problem if it has had time to set up.

I would not trust your husband to resolve this, especially if he's the (I won't say it) that let all that grout go down the drain. You use a bucket when you rinse grout, at least you do if you know what you are doing.

    Get a plumber out, quick.

Grout sets like stone ( when you think about it, thats the point, it has to be waterproof) so if you;ve got some down your drain, NOTHING will shift it.. if it is in the trap (the bent bit of pipe intended to 'trap' waste, then you will have to unscrew the pipe both sides of the trap, and then replace it.. it;s quite a straight forward job, get on google, and you won;t have to employ a plumber

your supposed to plug the drain with a rag or stopper and throw the crap out - its like cement - you may have to pull the tub now - unless one of the old tubs that a side panel has - bummer
