i think you have to get it in buy mode and if its not their you can look into this cheat
"testingcheatsenabled true" and then "buydebug" it enables extra items to buy for less

It should be in your mailbox once the baby is born. If not then it could be a glitch. You also need the Generations expansion pack. If you didn't already know that.

You can have an imaginary friend in generations. Since you didn't mention you expansion pack , so idk any thing else. Sorry:(
