When Jesus was baptized by his cousin John, who was there to write down their conversation?

Who was there, also, when Jesus was tempted by the devil?

Update:

If Jesus remembered the conversations, why were they not written in the first person? If his disciples wrote down his words, how did they keep up with ALL that he said for those three years of his ministry? What did they write on, because they never seemed to run out of stationery, or pens, or ink, even when at the Sermon on the Mount, they had brought only two loaves of bread and 5 fishes, yet they had the forethought to take writing material with them, and hardly any FOOD? Where is the LOGIC?

Update 2:

If Jesus DID tell someone to write down his words why did he not tell the scribes to write the conversations in the FIRST PERSON, for he was THERE, wasn't he? He SPOKE, didn't he? He performed MIRACLES, didn't he? He would not say, "Jesus did this," or "Jesus did that," because that would be ridiculous, right? That is EXACTLY what the Bible states, however, and I find it odd that Jesus himself FAILED to put down a SINGLE word to scroll! There MUST be some personal writing that he kept, perhaps a journal, a diary, a scribble, SOMETHING, yet NOTHING is what we end up from a being who supposedly is GOD! Don't you find that to be sad?

Update 3:

I still wonder why Jesus never wrote anything down, because his whole ministry was, as far as his followers knew, a once-in-a -lifetime event, so wouldn't at least a couple of them have asked for Jesus to write SOMETHING that was so GODLY that it could only BE from a god, and not just from a wise teacher?

Much like everything else written about Jesus, the "witnesses" didn't record anything until a minimum of 40 years after his death!

All of Jesus' disciples were there at every event Jesus was involved in and some were there at healings and others not but each individual disciple wrote it down according to what he remembered he had seen and heard. That's why the gospels in the Bible are called, "The Gospel according to....Matthew, Mark, Luke or John, depending upon which one you happen to be reading......

These were very new teachings they were all receiving. It is not as if they wouldn't remember these things - miracles, healings, a total change of lifestyle. It was only three years of ministry. That is nothing to remember when it is all so new and exciting.

    Good question

The bible relates this truth "All Scripture is inspired of God" 2 Tim 3:16

God was present, and later inspired others to pen that important part of history. God is the best eye-witness anyone could ever have

John, more than likely, was not alone standing out there in the water. John did have disciples that he identified the lamb of God when He drew near. Then he instructed those disciples to follow Jesus. So they witnessed this account in their writings.

Maybe John recorded the baptism of Jesus.

For the second question, Jesus could have told his disciples of what transpired, and instead of recording the fact that HE told THEM, the simply recorded the journey as a fact.

    1) Please see John 1:40 for the answer to your question. John the Baptist spoke of these things to his disciples, some of whom became Yeshua's disciples later. One of them, Andrew, was an Apostle.

    2) Obviously, Yeshua spoke of these things to His disciples. Why would someone have to be there? Don't you think that His many miracles proved that He spoke the truth?

No one need have been there.

Jesus was there, and it is more than likely that he had the same amazing memory that most people back then would have had.

And it is not out of the bounds of possibility that he later told those stories to his disciples.

His Father Jehovah was there every step of the way. The Bible shows that scripture is inspired of God.

(2 Timothy 3:16-17) 16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work. . .

  • I would imagine that those who believe the stories would hold them to have been written by people who were "inspired" to write them. A secretary doesn't need to be present at the event in question to take dictation relating to the event, after all...

Not my personal belief; just a probable scenario as to the explanation you'll receive from believers in those events.

Mar 13:23 But take heed; see, I have told you all things beforehand.

Joh_14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.
