Wouldn't it be helpful if the Republicans had a more unified approach to the state of the economy?

In trying to back up some of my answers to questions, I find statements from all over the spectrum of methods to improve the economy but nobody can seem to articulate those ideas with a clear message that resonates with people. Hurling insults at the other side from both parties is accomplishing nothing but disgust with our entire government and with each other if YA is any indication.

I agree with conservative fiscal principles but at this point they aren't coming out with a clear message that people understand. They talk about regulations but few on the left can understand what that means in the business place. It means they aren't going to engage in growth and hire until they know how all the new laws will effect their bottom lines.

If you buy a new car, you have to know the price, how much your interest and payments will be and for how many years you'll be paying for it. You have to also be able to afford insurance, maintenance, and license plates. If you didn't know how much any of that would be, would you buy a car anyway or do you determine which car you can afford by the other expenses that go along with owning a vehicle for the next 5 years? Its the same with businesses only on a much larger scale.

How much will the health insurance cost, how much will emissions cost, how will financial reform effect borrowing, and what will be tax friendly expenses going forward? These are all things a business must know before they can move forward and at this point they are all big mysteries and will be for several years. Therefore no growth.

Update:

***The are still writing all of those bills. They aren't finished yet***

Update 2:

Maxine Waters told the Tea Party to go to hell. I would call that an insult and she wasn't on YA when she said it.

Also how will anything ever get done if there aren't enough who agree on the way forward?

    Great car analogy!

Yes it would be helpful. As much as I despise Newt, he had the right idea in 1994 with the Contract With America. It laid out specific principles and plans, a course of action, a statement of intent.

Nobody's doing that now. The GOP is too busy fighting internal battles between the Old Guard and the New Blood. Unfortunately it will require another election (2012) before anyone knows which side will win that battle. I predict the New (TEA Parties) Blood will prevail because Americans are FED UP with politics and want some action.

So we're screwed for another 2 years. The economy will bump along being mostly tasteless and stale and slow for another 2 years. Bernyankme at The Fed promised low interest rates for 2 years. The next 2 years will look like the last 2 years. It will take at least that long for the European banking systems to sort things out. The Big 5 American banks will require 2 more years to continue treading water in search of some solid land.

2 more years of things being mostly like they are right now. 9-12% unemployment, depending on where one is. 2 more years of a million real estate foreclosures per year. 2 more years of hearing these idiot politicians floundering around with NO PLAN!!

    EDIT: BREAKING NEWS! http://www.ritholtz.com/blog/2011/08/wall-st-borro...

So does it really matter what the politicians do when the Federal Reserve banking cartel plays by its own rules, completely outside the political process?

I have chosen to ignore them and make my own plan. Might want to check it out. 700+ hours of free podcasts and great links on the net:

imo the reason why they don't have a Unified Approach is the Neocon Agenda is not conservative in nature. Dr.Ron Paul gives a good explanation http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx1Jpxel-1k

They are for big government, an industrial War Machine and Support of Israel at all cost.

The Neocon Agenda has infiltrated the Tea Party making their Small Government and Balanced Budget goals a morass of mixed messages: Tea Party representatives may very well be on a collision course with their own voters. Americans love to cheer for spending cuts in theory, but hate the ones that affect them rather than others. The draconian cuts Washington is imposing will deprive millions of poor and working-class Americans of college aid for their kids, home heating assistance, help paying their mortgages and, once the "super committee" does its work, probably Social Security and Medicare benefits. Once that reality sets in, it is easy to envision the austerity mind-set appealing to far fewer people. http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2011/08/01/in...

Now, imo, many conservatives are simply not aware of the amount of government help in education and medicine and when the 40 percent of Medicare Medicaid Money is in danger of being pulled, a lot of good "conservatives" will be out of a job.

In conclusion - if we are truly going to make a change to really try to straighten out our government - we are going to have to give up a lot of luxuries we do not consider luxuries so we can take our country back from the Crony Corporatism in Washington and the Snare of the Banking Cartels.

Back in the the days before our country was screwed, everyone had their own opinion, as opposed to Option A (bad political party 1) or Option B (bad political party 2). Maybe different opinions are a good thing.

its a pretty big mistake to think that the answers you get on here are anywhere near the actual voice of the political party. and the reason it seems un-unified is because on here everyone has their own opinions of what the answer is. no one is checking the daily talking points and throwing it out there (well some may be but not many i hope)

Wouldn't be helpful if the congressional leaders (both sides) put America first instead their political parties?...its seems most of them in are in the perpetual campaign/fund raising mode.

Congress gets 14 weeks a year off for fundraising activity.

Oboma's is campaining for reelection in most of his speechs

it takes business 5 years to figure out a bill? lol... some will do better and make a lot of money while the "slow business owners" are trying to figure out a bill that was passed 5 years ago...

some people just aren't cut out for business...

the other problem with what you say is... THESE COSTS YOU MENTION WERE NOT OR WILL NOT EVER BE solid... they have changed over the past 10 years greatly and will change... by your logic, no business should have grown for years... there is always some mystery and particularly in some of these areas... health care costs went up 100 percent in 10 years BEFORE OBAMACARE...

do you think they expected that? they didn't...

I find the unified consensus of drastic cuts in government spending to be quite clear.

That's not how the country works.

A lot of people come up with ideas, and the people vote on their favorite.

At the moment, the GOP is showing a lot of different ideas from a lot of different candidates. The democrats are showing nothing. They blame and name-call and demonize.

For me, the choice is clear. Democrats don't belong in office.

It should be, but the President is the obstacle. He won't agree to anything the intelligent ones come up with. He's so full of himself. He thinks he is smarter than everyone and he is ruining the world.

    Right.

The republicans aren't even in control of the government yet it is their fault.

Try looking up how many times the house ALREADY passed legislation that the senate quashed.

Your question is looking more like a rant all the time.
