"Green" is the capitalism-friendly substitute for "sustainable". It doesn't necessarily mean that the associated product is environmentally friendly, makes me think of suburban women age 18-30 shopping, and makes me feel somewhat emotionally disenchanted.

For me personally being green is having a high respect for the Mother Earth. Thinking in terms of ways to be kind and gentle to our planet. Recycling, conserving water, re-thinking consumption, and doing online activism at sights such as care2.com, etc.

To me, the term "green" means that I am doing my part to help preserve this planet by recycling, using solar or wind energy, and being responsible in general.
