Is Tunisia safe to travel to at the moment?

Was thinking of going at the beginning of October, but i'm not sure how safe it is.

Just stay in the main tourist resorts. According to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, you should avoid the areas next to Libya.

    Have a nice holiday!

Tunisia is a great place to visit and is quite safe provided you stay away from the border areas near Libya. The local people are very friendly and will help you have a good time.

The tourist areas have been unaffected by the recent problems and tourists are starting to return to the country in ever increasing numbers.

All classes of accommodation is available and the food is just the best. Try some local cafes and restaurants where the food id cheap, well presented and tastes just great.

My boyfriend just got back from there last week. He was there for 2 months visiting his family and everything was fine, aside from tanks still in the streets from what happened a few months ago. I think he said there was a rally or protest when he first got there, but it was uneventful. Now with the recent events in Algeria and Libya, you may want to just keep an eye on the news to see if anything breaks out in Tunisia since it's right in the middle of those 2 countries. More than likely, it will be ok. Al-Jazeera is probably the most reliable source for events out there, so just check out their website once in a while. If it's all clear, then enjoy your vacation.
