Can you explain the term "sociopath" in a very basic way?

A sociopath doesn't care at all about other people or what they might think. A typical sociopath will do whatever he or she wants to do right this moment (smash a window, mug someone, drop a rock off an overpass, etc.), and won't worry about any of the consequences until they are face-to-face with them later, like when they are actually being arrested or beaten down by some dude.

A sociopath is a pathological liar who lacks a conscience and feels no guilt. They are expert actors in public that fake being social by surrounding themselves by hand picked, often highly moral enablers to gain what they want which is entertainment in the form of being cruel to others behind the scenes. Sociopaths are parasitic in nature, cannot plan ahead, are "morally outraged" (social media), and need to be the center of attention. Anyone else who gets more attention are targeted especially in the form of gas-lighting.

A sociopath is a person who completely lacks social skills. They despise people, avoid the public, and are much happier by themselves. This is not to be confused with a psychopath. A psychopath is a human incapable of feeling any emotion whatsoever. A sociopath can feel emotion, but they are completely devoid of social skills and hate all human contact.

One who is affected with a personality disorder marked by antisocial behavior is called a sociopath.

Someone who doesn't realize they are a sociopath, but labels others as sociopaths.

In a nutshell, sociopath's are akin to antisocial personality disorder, that is, lying, self gloating, deceptive passive aggression. They never apologies or if they do its overdone and dramatic. They will do everything in their pathological will to assasinate your're character and undermine you're integrity.
