Does it sound like I have a thyroid disease?
I think i might have something wrong with my thyroid. I am 16 years old. I can eat anything and i can't gain weight. My eyes have been hurting lately but my mom won't take me to the doctor because she thinks they hurt from watching the computer screen. My hair falls out probably more than normal and i'm always freezing cold but if it was overactive I'd be hot? Does this sound like a thyroid problem or something else?

Sounds like COULD be Hashimoto's Autoimmune Thyroiditis, where, in the beginning, we cycle between HypO & HypER before settling into hypO...it is the most common reason for hypO.
Here is some info that might be helpful:
You need to have your thyroid tested. You need testing for ANTIBODIES as well as TSH. TSH ‘norm’ should be .3 – 3 (w/ most feeling best at < 2) but would not matter if ANTIBODIES are present. Indicative of Hashimoto’s Autoimmune Thyroiditis…main cause of HypOthyroid & is worse (...OR Graves Disease - HypERthyroid).
WARNING: Doctors seem not to want to find/treat thyroid disease. You may have to go to more than one doctor before you get the right tests, interpretation, and treatment. Best wishes.

It could be a million things or it could be nothing worse than a dietary issue.
Take your temperature:

That would be the least invasive way to find out for yourself whether it's a thyroid thing or not.
If you are hypErthyroid, you would likely have a number of symptoms including excessive unexplained weight loss, diarrhea, sweating like crazy, the shakes, extremely high heart rate, hair loss, exhaustion, etc...
You're young and still growing which could easily explain you ability to eat anything and
not gain weight - this is normal. You might spend more than a couple of hours on the computer every day which might contribute to eye strain. When's the last time you had your eyes checked?
A word of advice: avoid eating unfermented soy products such as tofu, soy milk, soy beans, and the like. Soy is a goitrogen that can reduce body iodine. Iodine deficiency can result in thyroid issues, infertility, cancers, etc. Fermented soy, such as "stinky tofu" and miso are ok, tho.
I hope this info has helped.

Do you have medical insurance? Can you make an appointment by yourself and simply go in on your own and pay the co-pay? Alternatively, you might be able to get your thyroid tested on your own by going to a lab for about 50 bucks. If you'd be interested in that, let me know by email.
It would be preferable to go in to the doctor so the doctor can give you an exam like a physical and then order general blood work along with the special thyroid test.
With regard to your computer monitor, if you have one of the old-style monitors from several years back, it's possible you might have to set the refresh rate in the display settings to a higher setting to prevent eye fatigue.
