What are your thoughts on this statement regarding proof of God's existence?

"It is not proof of God's existence that we need so much as proof of God's presence in our life."

My comment: I say that, with faith, we get both.

Our need for God proves his presence?

No, it only proves our need.

I think it's a bad attempt at sounding profound. Your statement starts out saying that proof is not important and then presumes the unproven is evident despite the lack of proof. Faith doesn't negate evidence or proof.

The learn referenced in the object exchange into staring on the cosmic history radiation - the radiation from the massive Bang. whether this "data" for different universes seems to be no longer something of the form, in the various-worlds type of quantum mechanics you probably could have dissimilar universes each and each with its very own vast Bang. As for gods, the life of many universes could pull the rug out from below between the main arguments for the life of an clever author - the plain effective-tuning of the universe. If there are a number of universes, possibly an endless selection, wherein diverse common constants and beginning situations are allowed, then the life of a universe that produces clever life by technique of a in basic terms undirected technique turns into inevitable; whether it is available, no remember how no longer likely, that is going to take place.

Okey! we know for a fact that creation is nonsense and impossible. I'll give you proof:

Proof 1: If we get a pancake and put it in the microwave, it will not taste like chocolate

Proof 2: If we get that same pancake and put chocolate on it, it will definitely taste like a chocolate.

Proof 3: If we take a chocolate and put it in a bed, and then put the bed in outerspace, the chocolate would still be there.

Proof 4: If we eat the chocolate bar, we would no longer have a chocolate bar.

The same could be said about religion.

People just want excuses to live a sinful and immoral lifestyle, so they reject even the very idea of God.

God said, "If you seek for me, then you shall find me, if you search for me with all your heart (with an honest and humble heart), and I SHALL be found of you, says the Lord"

He said that He would reveal Himself to the person with a humble heart and a contrite attitude; but that He would hide Himself from the proud, the arrogant, the skeptic, the scoffer, and the mocker alike.

Here is an objective challenge that you can take.

Jesus said that if you REALLY want to know if His teachings were that of a mere man, or from God (implying the existence of said God), then "OBEY THESE COMMANDS, and you SHALL know (one way OR the other)" (Referring to the Sermon on the Mount, beginning in the 5th chapter of the gospel according to Matthew)

This is a "litmus" test that Jesus gave, and He said nothing at all about having faith or believing. If you want to know if Jesus really IS the Son of God (the God who is there), (er – DO you really want to know?) then read and obey the Sermon on the Mount as found in the gospel according to Matthew, starting in the 5th chapter.

If Jesus never existed, then nothing will happen.

If Jesus was a liar, then nothing will happen.

If Jesus was a lunatic, then nothing will happen.

If the Bible is nothing more than the writings of some crazy bronze-aged, goat-herding cave men as the atheist mockers keep insisting, then nothing at all will happen.

If they flat out reject this test, then I have to remind them of some other words Jesus said. He said that the reason people reject God is “because they are evil (their deeds are evil), and they love darkness (i.e. they love their sins and immorality), and they hate the light (i.e. they hate Truth)!” I can only conclude that they are just one more in an ever increasing line of hypocrites who talk a good talk, but don't really mean a thing they say, and that the only reason they don't believe in God is because they don't WANT to believe in God, and for no other reason; and their theme song is "Don't confuse me with Truth; my mind's already made up!"

But if they were take this challenge seriously, they would join the many thousands of ex-atheists over the centuries who have discovered the truth about God and Jesus.

In his famous book “Mere Christianity”, C. S. Lewis makes the following observation: "A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with a man who says he is a poached egg - or he would be the devil of hell. You must take your choice. Either this was, and is, the Son of God, or else a mad man or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us."

If you have evidence of His presence, surely you also have proof of His existence, as how can someone be present if he/she does not exist?

As for me, I would never experience God's existence as I have evidence of His presence in my life everyday. And this comes from my relationship with Him.

Forever thankful that my God is a personal God!

    I agree, we get both.

God works in and through us. Sometimes he works through other people in our lives and/or some things just fall into place.

The reason why I believe is that there have been some events in my life that have happened that I think it can't just be luck, but divine intervention.

But with faith, why would it have to be God? It could be anything from Allah to a jug of milk and it would have the same results with faith.

I say it's not just faith that leads to proof of god's presence but changes in your life. are you becoming a better person? if yes, he is there if no, there is something wrong
