Can I insert a "next record" field in a MS Word document for a mail merge?
I am pretty well versed in Word an mail merges, however I have created a new document that will be split in 3 parts so the same material is on the same doc, just in 3 partions (in an effort to save paper). However, when I do the merge I am trying to get the 2nd and 3rd partitions to pick up the next sequential number merging of the Excel document - Can anyone help???

Make sure "view merge data"(preview result on mailing ribbon for xl 2007) button is not on, put your cursor at the very start of the 2nd portion of the page, click the "insert word'(rules on mailing ribbon for xl 2007) button, choose "next record", then a <<next record>> be the start of the portion with no space or character before that.
To test, click "view merge data" button, <<next record>> will show different data with different portion of page. Do the same on 3rd portion of the page to complete the whole alternation.

Can not remember where the option is but try looking for the suppress field if data is empty option some where n the mail merge or the data source options sorry i cant be more help but dont have word to hand to tell you the correct method Leigh
