If I take the mattress out of my hide a bed, would it affect the couche?

I need a mattress to sleep on, but cannot use the sofa. Would the sofa be ruined if I leave it without any mattress in it?

Update:

Also, if I put the mattress on the ground would it damage my back?

Thanks!

Update 2:

There is ply wood and cushion to support the cushions. I guess I was wondering if It will damage the frame of the mattress inside of the couche?

The sofa will not be usable as a sofa if you remove the mattress.

No, leaving the mattress on the ground should not hurt your back.

Why -can't- you use the sofa? Just curious.

Sorry but you wouldn't be able to use the couch without it. Your butt would hit the floor when you sat on it. It wouldn't hurt your back if you slept on the floor if your back likes firm surfaces. Don't you have a sleeping back to use? Maybe you have some type of boxes the same height as the mattress and put those in the couch? I don't know if that would work for sure but you'll need something to take up the space. Have you looked around for sleeping cots? Maybe an air mattress? Good Luck to you, I wished I could help you more than just an answer but that can't be done unfortunately.
