G asked in Education & ReferenceHomework Help · 10 years ago

Are you a chemistry major? Can you help me answer this question?

If a chemical compound increased from 8.28 g to 15.07 g would the mass of each element remain the same, become less than, or more than the previous sample?

Please explain. Thanks

Update:

I'm still confused. I know the percentage of each element would remain the same, but I would think that the mass of each element would increase? If I am right, what is the formula for showing each element's mass increase?

Thanks.

Assuming that this increase comes from simply producing more of the *same* compound, then the proportions will stay the same. The mass of each element would increase by a ratio of 15.07 : 8.28.
