Can do you aquire Croatian Dual Citizenship?

My Family on my step-mom side are croatian and I would like to be able to stay and not require a travel visa (no more than 90 days) to gain entry to the Republic Of Croatia. My children i am adopting are croatian citizens and i don't want that renounced because they are being adopted by an american i was born in Seattle,United States. I want to share the same citizenship as my children. I have family here in the United States And the Republic Of Croatia and i should not have to chose between them.

Update:

YES!!! I am Australian born, but also hold dual Croatian Citizenship! And the United States pretty much accepts dual citizenship with countries they have positive diplomatic relations with. However, I must warn you now, the croatian bureaucracy is quite slow, so it may take a few years to acquire a Croatian passport. So be patient and visit your local croatian consulate now!
