So today my boyfriend and I had sex without a condom for the first time, and I forgot my pill...?

So a few hours ago my boyfriend had sex without a condom for the first time. I've been trying to do this with him for a while because he's paranoidnill get pregnant but tonight was our 6 month anniversary. Only I took my pill late. I usually take it at 9 we had sex at 1230 and I took my pill at 1. Normally I wouldn't be too worried except today I was supposed to ovulate!! I'm so nervous and scared. I'm afraid to tell him because I've always convinces him there's nothing to worry about and he likes to worry. I don't have money to get the morning after pill by myself. Should I ask my sister? Should I ignore it? Should I tell my boyfriend? Help!!

You were only 4 hours out, and I was told by my doctor that after 6 hrs is when you should skip taking it that day, and take it tomorrow with the other pill. However, there is still a slight increased risk that it may not have worked to its potential, but I really wouldn't worry just yet.

If you want to though, i would go and get the morning after pill if you are very worried. Do try to not forget however to take the pill again, as your only suppose to take this particular pill like 3 times a year. And even that is enough. it is for emergency situaitons only. If you are constantly forgetting your pill then definatley set an alarm. Most phones these days allow you to set one, and to set it as a 'daily' alarm, to ring/vibrate the same time everyday. Also, at this moment I wouldn't tell your boyfriend. It should be nothing and until you miss a period or get a positive pregnancy test, then start to really worry. Hope all goes well :)

Chances of you being pregnant are incredibly small. You were only 4 hours late taking the pill. Yes, that makes it slightly less reliable, but it doesn't completely negate its effectiveness.

You dont ovulate when your taking the pill, thats the point of it. the pill isnt 100% anyway, and condoms stop sexually transmitted diseases (so i hope you were both tested before you decided to try it without condoms). 4hrs late shouldnt matter provided u r taking it regularly and havent been sick lately.

first of all, i don't recommend anyone having sex out of marriage. if you were married, you wouldn't be as worried right now. i'm not trying to be mean, i'm just explaining this with my own previous experiences...it aint worth it. second of all, you are highly unlikely pregnant if you were 3 and a half hours late only at one time. it can depend on your birth control, but it's still highly unlikely. you need to tell your boyfriend so he knows what's going on just in case.

I think some places give it away for free. I know planned parenthood does. If you dont have a planned parenthood where you live then ask a friend or family member you trust that could help you get it.
