Need Algebra Help - Properties?

What properties are these problems?

1. [5 + (-2)] + (-4) = 5 + [-2 + (-4)]

2. (1 2/7) (7/9) = 1

Commutative..Associative...Identity....Inverse... or Distributive

Update:

Also... I do pay attention in class .... Since somebody had to be a smart butt... I just really don't know these. They don't look like they go with any of the properties.

Number 1 is associative. You can think of it like the brackets are associated with 5, -2 on the left hand side but they are associated with -2, -4 on the right hand side.

If number 2 is supposed to be (1 + 2/7)(7/9) = 1, then I would probably say identity because of the 1. But it is unclear.

Pay attention in class instead of asking on the Internet ;)
