If the Christian God cannot FEEL then how does He know what love, suffering, and death are like?

If you have never thought about this question before, then perhaps you should ask God to explain why He is so absent from this world, because all I see are priests raping children, and innocent people being blown up by terrorists every day! Aren't you the least bit angry that He seems not to care?

Update:

Bible quotes do not impress me. I want some hard evidence outside of the Bible, such as personal and verifiable experiences that someone has had with the Almighty.

Many people in many cultures have thought about this question actually. Many cultures have clear and succinct answers for this question too. In all reasonable non fundamentalist religions and in the sub sects of those religions, "God" feels through you and must do so as there are no other choices. In these reasonable religions, "God" is just not choosy and is no scapegoat. This is always clearly explained in the terms of the culture that understands it. Of course it is not provable empirically, but neither can anyone prove that they are actually alive either. It is an insight or intuition.

In these reasonable religions, it is teamwork and you are a vital part because there is no separation - ie: there is no Ultimate Principle Logos (or God) that is separate from you. Most, not quite all, of Christianity, has separated out God and human into totally disconnected separate parts. This is the origin of so called "sin" or "original sin" and is an unnecessary separation - useful only to control people through guilt and fear. In reality, to sin is to misunderstand or to lose the indivisible connection with god. Sin is not the disobedience of some revealed religious tract interpreted by a man. To carry it a little farther; people who perceive themselves separated from God are also separated from each other. Here the obvious trouble lies in the way we treat each other as you point out.

The flaw is not with All of Christianity in Western culture, but is in the perception of separateness - the perception of a separate existence. Most all of Christianity today cynically teaches and promotes this separateness. The result is what you have mentioned. But if you demand proof then you will get more of the same religious posturing that is the original problem. There is no proof of ultimate principle because proof is the wrong tool for the job. There is only being itself, undivided yet knowing. When this is understood, the Ultimate Principle knows itself entirely outside and beyond religion. ( From personal experience )

Priests who were pedophile gays were an anomaly and very minority in the Catholic church. It was caused by human preference and orientation that we all must avoid. Had these people follow Jesus instead of their secular drives, such atrocity would not have happened.

God is not absent and is actively building universal world peace (Luke 2:14). God lives through His people and is everywhere around the world. Wherever Christianity grows, peace & prosperity grow as you are witnessing right now in China.

In the next one minute, write down the top five humanitarian organizations, and then study their history. You will find them all of Christian origin. Thus, your fact tells the whole story of Christian benevolence for the world.

Now research the top 100 humanitarian organizations in the world, and study their origin. And your truth will reveal the benevolence of Christianity for the world.

What are you thankful for that the “world” has given? Modern medicine, modern science, hospitals, the Red Cross’es from where the Red Crescent’s ensue, mother Teresa’s, modern democracy, YMCA’s, YWCA’s, Salvation Armies, and reverend Harvard universities? They are the gifts of the Followers of Christ whom Jesus indwells and lives through. The greatest scientists such as Pascal, Newton, Pasteur, and the Father of Genetics Mendel were all men of faith who followed Jesus as their God. It is God’s vision to have world peace and goodwill in people (Luke 2:14). Despite the many oppositions, Christians successfully make these benevolence more and more universal, spreading the Good News all over the world

Do you care to join our humanitarian organizations & build world peace for all?

The shortest verse in the Bible is Jesus wept. My mother was buried yesterday. Her funeral was the day before. Early that morning there was thunder and lightening, and a needed rain shower. The ground needed it as much as my heart needed it. The Bible tells us that there was thunder and lightening when God spoke, as well as the still small voice. Matthew 27:51-53 tells us that when Jesus said it is finished up on the cross, graves were opened. I love a resurrected Savior. I know because Jesus died and rose again, that my mother will be awakened from her sleep. 1Thessalonians 4:13-18 is a promise from God, that makes good on His promises every time. Jesus has gone to prepare for us a place, that where He is there we may be also. We were created in the image and likeness of God at Creation. We have feelings because God has feelings. We can love because God first loved us. I have hope and assurance in God, because He loved us enough to allow His Son to leave Heaven for us. Romans 5 tells us that Jesus died and reconciled Himself to us, while we were sinners, ungodly, enemies, and without strength. I am sorry that it is not the Bible you are looking to for proof. In God's written Word there are so many promises. Jesus even promised to send down a Comforter when He would return to Heaven. I have had several experiences that Have convinced me that there is a living and very personal God.

Other than what you stated below, where do you get the idea that God doesn't feel? The Bible talks about a number of times when The Lord is grieved at the sin of humankind (Genesis 6:6 being one instance). But it also talks about how He is happy when people obey Him and then He blesses them. So, we can learn from the Bible...The Lord blesses those who follow Him.

Christians believe that Jesus was completely God and completely Man. The incarnation, God and man, is one of the wonderful Christian paradoxes.

The Church thus confesses that Jesus is inseparably true God and true man. He is truly the Son of God who, without ceasing to be God and Lord, became a man and our brother.

The Son of God worked with human hands; he thought with a human mind. He acted with a human will, and with a human heart he loved. Born of the Virgin Mary, he has truly been made one of us, like to us in all things except sin.

He knows what it is like to love, suffer, and die.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church explains what we believe in depth: http://www.nccbuscc.org/catechism/text/pt1sect2chp...

    With love in Christ.

That's an easy one. Jesus Christ was a human, he went through all those things.
