Help! My puppy is hard to train.?
He will be 1 year old in October. I got him from a puppy farm when he was six months old; and they did not give him any training before I got him. I've had him for 4 months. He still goes to the bathroom in the house; many times AFTER I've had him outside. And I know he knows its wrong; because when I find the evidence and roll up the newspaper, he runs away. And he has some chewing issues, too. Somebody, please advise! Thank You.

He does not know it is wrong. He only knows that you get angry with him when you roll up newspapers, otherwise he would already be going outside.
You need to start crate training him. You have to take him to his potty place after he plays, eats, and sleeps. He should be sleeping in his crate at night and if he wakes up you should take him immediately to his potty place, and then put him back in his crate. While you are gone he needs to be in his crate and when you get home you have to take him immediately to his potty place. You should not be reprimanding if he has an accident in the house, but if you catch him in the act, pick him up while you catch him in the act and take him to his potty place. When you start to trust him at night, he can start sleeping with you. For instance, I have a puppy. We tried letting him sleep open in our room, but he would pee. We put him in the crate and he would cry at 3AM. We took him out then. When he started to get the hang of peeing in his potty place before bed, and only crying to get out at around 6AM after a couple of weeks we started to allow him to sleep on the bed. But we set the alarm at 5:45 to let him out before he would wake up.
As far as chewing, I would have all kinds of chew toys/ sticks that last a long time spread around the house. Every time I see him chewing on something wrong, I would say OFF and then give him the appropriate chew already there for him to chew on and pet him and tell him how good he is when he accepts that.
It is about making opportunities for your dog to do right. Don't assume they already know it. At this point your dog only knows you are not happy, but isn't sure why or how to make you happy. You have to work to show him that. I guess it would be more difficult with a dog that lived in a "puppy farm" as those kind of conditions would not be normal developmental conditions that other puppies have been afforded. Be patient and extremely consistent with your puppy.

the other two answers on here are good answers, take their advice as well. He sounds like he's just doing normal puppy stuff but he will not grow out of it, so here's what I did with my beagle who had the same problem:
Squirt bottle and carrying him out side when he pees or poops in the house
Treats for asking to go outside before he goes
Chewing issues:
It's very important to teach him "drop it." When he has something he's not supposed to you should be able to say drop it and he will.
To train him do so varies depending on the dog and breed, but not by much. the general idea is NEVER chase him when he has anything in his mouth, NEVER play tug of war with him or he'll think it's a game when he has something he shouldn't.
Also make sure your house is puppy proofed, (garbage in a bin with a lid or in a cupboard with a closed door, shoes are on a rack or in a closet, etc.)
He's still young yet, and 4 months is a short time with a new owner and as he gets older and mellows out a bit he may become easier to handle. (no guarentees there)
Just be patient and be consistent.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://bitly.im/aMvSG
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.

Crate training.
Do not punish him unless you see him do it try to catch him in the act.
Bring him outside to the bathroom every 2 hours when you are home.
Reward good behavior with treats.
Teach him to scratching on the door opens the door.
Be patient. Some dogs take longer to train than others.
Also maybe a few dog training classes will help train you so you can train your dog.
Patients is the key.

The tough thing about puppies is you have to treat them like babies and literally keep them with you every second of the day. You have to catch the puppy in the act every single time. As soon as my puppy left the room, I would follow her to make sure she wasn't going to try to pee or poop. It seriously is like having a child. It's hard, but the training will go faster. When you catch the puppy peeing, clap and say "NO" and this will distract him. Then immediately take him outside, watch him go, and then praise. If you're finding evidence that he's gone in the house, then you're not doing it correctly and you're letting him out of your sight.
Also, if you can't watch him, you'll have to put him in a crate. If you don't have a crate, go and buy one. They will not go in their crate. Then when you take him out of his crate, take him immediately outside. This will get him into the habit of going outside.

You will just have to be strict with him! Another thing that beats a rolled up newspaper is a spray bottle of water turned down to a stream. Squirt him with that for inappropriate behavior and drag him outside when he shows signs of wanting to relieve himself! Patience, patience and more patience!

Don't punish him unless you catch him in the act. if you do, pick him up (he'll stop what he's doing) and take him outside. make sure to give lots of praise when he goes. the way i taught my dog is that we used a bell tied to a ribbon and put it on the door knob. every time she was about to go out we had her ring the bell by moving it with her nose. you could try that.
