How soon does anyone know it will be safe to travel to NYC, after the hurricane?

My husband and I have planned for the last 6 months to go to NYC and wonder if we need to change our plans. We are leaving on Sept 16th driving up from Florida.

My friend, like former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani once said: "New York City is open for business." You everything is return back to normal, which means you should be okay by September 16.

However, since you're driving from FL, I would recommend not bringing the car into the city, because parking here is hard to fine and expensive, specially in Manhattan. In addition, you will be spending more time in your car than visiting the landmarks.

Instead, park outside of the city and take the commuter train into the city. The link below has all the information you need about parking in neighboring New Jersey including parking fees and and ticket price information on NJ Transit.

    Good luck

You should be fine. They reopened the airports in NYC today. From what I understand, upstate New York and Vermont got the worst of it. A friend of mine is from Windham, New York, in the Catskill Mountains and they have a real mess there - 13 inches of rain and highway closures. I hope you enjoy your trip! I love NYC and I've only been once.

Dena, please! That's more than two weeks from now! If nothing else happens, you'll have no problems. And you'll love NYC! Good luck.

Have you not noticed that it was all overhyped and is, in any case, all over.
