I would like to ship an ice cream cake to someone, suggestions?

My friend doesn't have a perticular ice cream store in her area, and I want to send her a cake for a special occasion coming up. What is the best way to do this? I have no experience with dry ice...I don't even know where to get it, or how to handle it. Can I shipme something like this through the post office? Or another overnight service? Any advice woulde be helpful.

    Shipping with USPS:

A parcel containing dry ice (carbon dioxide solid) must be packed

in a container that allows the release of carbon dioxide gas. If a

fiberboard box is used, enough insulation is necessary to prevent

condensation and wetting of the mailing carton. Good luck.

I would contact Schwan's, pay for it via debit/credit card, and have it shipped to her address. I don't believe the post office ships frozen foods.

Its pretty expensive, but a delivery service courier can get it to the address the same day.
