whats the highest ram i should get for MSI 990FXA-GD65?
what i mean is im on new egg and im building my first computer and i just got a little stuck it says DDR3 800 / 1066 / 1333 / 1600 / 1866* / 2133* (OC) what ram should i get i mean i wanna get the highest speeds but im not sure if the ones with the * on will be able to work or not like if that's only what i get if i overclock them

The asterisk means that it isn't "officially" supported and is considered an overclock. If you buy memory rated at one of those speeds with an asterisk, you'll have to set it to that speed manually in the UEFI/BIOS. I set my speeds manually anyways regardless. I wouldn't get anything higher than the 1600. 4GBs of that 1600 is perfectly fine.

The clock speed isn't everything with ram you should also look at latencies.
