wife has OCD i think, need advise...?
she spends the ENTIRE DAY (EVERYDAY) for over 15yrs. doing the same thing, **We live in a 900squ-foot house** with a small yard(average). Lots of flowers (replaced 3 times a year also).
gets up at 7am, does clothes, puts away dishes from night before, does her eye makeup, vaccuums, deals with the dog, takes a bath, gets dressed, then backinto the house to watch a soap opera while she eats a quick lunch, then goes out side and picks up any and all trash that she can find anywhere on the property blown in, then picks dead buds on ALL FLOWERS ON ENTIRE PROPERTY, then picks up al the gum balls that falls off the tree, the waters everything outside, then back into the house to do more work around the house (dusting and more).
On certain days of the week she (cuts grass, weed;ds, clean gutters, wont let me help"i cant do it good enough"), or she removes over 50+ pictures from the wall to wash and dust, and every nick-nack in the house also.
We cant leave the house to do anything except (friday dinner, saturday dinner), but she rushes home. She does not want to ever go on a vacation with me as their is too much behind work at home if she does leave, and she cant handle being that behind.
Im at my wit ends here. over 15yrs, i finally put my foot down and said we are going for at least a weekend getaway, and she finally said fine after lots of auguring, and now that we are about to go on the trip, she is already complaining about coming back early, because im causing her to have to much work to come back to. She also eats barly 800 calories a day, but works out like crazy 5 days a week. (treadmill, weight bench).
Most of the time she is very irritated and takes it out on me when im around her. She does not see that she has any problems and that everyone else in the entire world including me are just VERY LAZY PEOPLE..
is their anyway I can force her to the doctor as her husband, or do anyone have any ideas??
please help, someone out their has gone through this somewhere and won the battle.

For the person who things its not OCD or any issue and is just that she is a real women, explain this then.... I got with her when i was 25 yrs old. Im now 40 yrs old. We have never been on a trip anywhere, (Ive tried my best to take her on a criuse, air trip to anywhere, car trips to anywhere, train trips to anywhere, even let it be her complete design of the trip), everytime it ends in a battle/argument./fight... NO one can do the things around the house as good as her while were gone, and that means how ever many days were gone all that SCHEDULED work has to be made up, and she cant do it, theirs not enough time in the day to make up all that work, so Im suppose to leave her alone and enjoy 9pm to 10pm with her on the couch only watching something on tv before bed, even then i get jipped, as by 1040pm she pulling down the covers on the bed, putting the pillows in their place (the extra ones), brushing teeth and getting ready for bed, so lights/tv is out at 10pm (i cant stay up aft

Sounds like a eating disorder and diff ocd if shes that direct about timing and doing same thing everyday. seek a professional and if you cant then do get books on subject or read online for support groups. before you turn to affair cuz sounds like shes driving you nuts to.

I have OCD, GAD, and panic. I only call my husband like once a day to say I love you, I miss you, etc. That's no excuse to bother a husband all day. Married people are INDIVIDUALS who should long to be together. Sounds like you have a selfish wife. Buy her "The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands" by Dr. Laura Schlessinger and give it to her during a romantic dinner. Tell her you love her. If she doesn't change, then maybe she needs to see a psychologist. By the way, you're not an a*** for not wanting to be on the phone every minute of the day.

OCD is a complex thing. It sounds like she is. I suffer from OCD myself. I am also on medication for bipolar disorder which helps with the OCD. If she eats that little she might be anorexic or bulimic. Try some more to convince her to see a psychologist. Most OCD people can't stand the fact that they are OCD, we hate how everything has to be perfect. Try talking to her. Good Luck. I wish you the best

Well you can't force her to get help, she has to realize that she needs some help first. It would be best to go to a licensed therapist and get his advice on what you can do to convince her to come in and talk. You'll probably become frustrated, but you just have to keep at it, and eventually she will come around. It might take a long time, but the results are worth it.

I don't think she's OCD.It just sounds like she's a women.Women usually love things clean & they always think there's more work to do.They like to stay busy & have things look good.As for her eating what she does don't worry about it.She just wants to be healthy & fit.
