would taking two different languages be wise?
so my first quarter in college i decided that i was going to take Japanese. However recently i've started wanting to want to learn German. Would trying to take both at the same time be more than humanly possible? Would i have to choose? Or could i pull off learning both?

If you're smart and dedicated, you could pull off learning both.
A primary ingredient is motivation, so if you really have an interest in learning an extra language, that's half the battle. Also try to immerse yourself in cultural events for both languages. You need to expose yourself to languages outside of the lecture theatre, and be prepared to sacrifice a lot of your time.

It was super hard for me to take two different languages in a years apart let alone at the same time. For me while speaking in the language I tend to mix up other words from other languages but that might be due to my practice in it. I would study one that was more interesting and then maybe if you don't like it try the other one a year later.
