I'm okay with my starting QB so I'm thinking of trading for insurance at WR or RB?

I've got Fitzpatrick (Buf) as my back-up QB. I think on a buy week, I can pick up an equal caliber replacement so I'm considering picking up an extra RB or WR. I'm eyeing Beanie Wells, Brandon Jacobs and Robert Meachem. I think Colston may be on the down slide and Meachem is looking good in pre-season. Any thoughts?

Update:

More background: I've got A. Peterson and F. Gore as RB with Green-Ellis as back-up

My receivers are only so-so: Brandon Lloyd, Dez Bryant, Earl Bennett, Julio Jones and Lee Evans.

So I've already got 2 back-up receivers and only 1 back-up RB. But my receivers are weaker overall, I think.

If Wells and Jacobs are out there, this must be a very small league, certainly will be other options at QB for you on the week you need it.

Take Wells over Jacobs, but I don't which position you need more insurance.

Ok. I am going to break this down as much as I can.

Fitzpatrick will do okay. 2500 yards or so, C rated QB.

    I would drop him definitely.

On that week your qb has a bye week, you just need any qb that can get you 15 to 30 points(obviously more points better, but every person in your league will have a bad week)(usually the bye week for thier qb)

Depending on your starting Runningbacks, you should have an extra Rb there.

If you have Colston, he is good.

Meachem will do good too. Any Saints player that catches a ball will have a good season.

Remember two to 3 years ago, Drew Brees threw over 4000 Yards and NON of his recievers had 1000 yards.

    So everyone caught something.

You can pick up wells and different people to make a trade.

Felix Jones is a good sleeper, TIm Hightower, Even though Michael bush is a back-up he is good too.
