How can we fight extremism atmosphere?

For example let's say Christian and atheists use "arguments" such as "God doesn't exist" (providing no argument or nothing else (like joke) for question) or "this is in Bible hence it's true" (though this isn't extremism, it isn't very intelligent). Now if you are Christian or atheist you are more likely to continue with this "intelligent discussion". How can we diminish effect of such atmosphere without extremism?

In this examples there is also:

Q: Let's say God does/doesn't exist.

A: Let's say God doesn't/does exist.

Update:

OK, but I don't understand what your answer gotta do with question? Weird think is that I can hardly find a word likely in my own text ??

I think no matter what, it will always be here. There will be extremists on both sides, really it's in anything. fight it, you will get involved in it.

You can though CHOOSE how you let it affect you. If I open a qn that tends to be a bit of a rant or the person 'really' obviously doesn't want to know, I just move on and try to discern a genuine question. I try not to get into debates as each side just wants to change the others mind where as a genuine question will attract answers from all sides and the asker can decide on what they want to believe. Debates of this sort I just find unhealthy. There might be several qn's to sift through before answering but there has been some genuine appreciation over the time I have been here and it works for me

    Hope that helps!

    Bets.

    It can settle any probability.

Atheism has been proven to be more succesful than all the religions despite having absolutely none of their advantages.

The true "faith" is the most succesful one.

By law of "bets" and likely chances, atheism already proves it won.

Fighting extremism, is extremist itself. So not much to do against it. People have to assert their beliefs before others, or else they will feel "left out" or stupid.

When they win arguments, even by cheating, they feel their beliefs have been made "more real" than they already weren't.

Winning a debate doesn't make it right or wrong. It just means you're better at philosophy. Your faith doesn't even have to be true, to win. Just ambition to "prove" it may be.
