Some babies take a little longer then others. Do not worry it will fall off, but listen to your Dr and do not mess with it. Do not try to pull it off yourself whatever you do. It has got to heal and seal off all by its self.

Some babies cords take longer to fall off. Just clean around it with a q tip and water in the bath so it doesnt get infected.

My oldest son's cord stayed at least that long, and I used alcohol to clean it. With my second and 3rd son I left their cords alone and they dropped off within a week, so leave it alone. If it doesn't come off on its own this next week give your pediatrician a call and he'll remove it with silver nitrate.

  • in australia your told not to touch it except to move it out of top of nappy dont clean it dont put anything on it both my boys fell off around 10 days , the cord will fall off when its ready you may find it just has this 1 tiny little dry bit hanging on my son had this then he must of wriggled and it came off as i was changing his nappy

listen to your Doctor, and do not touch it keep it clean with a cotton bud and water, give it a few more days if it's still there speak to your doctor again or your health visitor if they're due to visit, and see if they can do anything or advise you with something to try

Your doctor's advice is not helping the cord to fall off, use alcohol and swap the area, the alcohol will dry it up and it falls off.
