As another Buwan ng Wika comes to a close, is it really important to speak mainly Filipino during such time?

What's the use of Buwan ng Wika if we do not celebrate it by speaking the native tongue?

Filipinos have grand fiestas, gift-giving in Christmas and flowers and chocolates for Valentine's.

Buwan ng Wika should also be observed.

Is it important to speak purely tagalog during Buwan ng Wika? Not that necessary in general, it may be in schools, but the reason why we celebrate Buwan ng Wika is to show our value and importance to the National language.

It really depends. On schools, admins implement the rules on speaking in Filipino to celebrate the said annual activity. It is usually executed because Filipino is our national language. When your not in school, there is no one to command you to speak in Filipino, unless your celebrating the Buwan ng Wika. When you're in work, usually, your workplace itself doesn't make it a must. Unless again you're working on a workplace that values Philippine culture.

For me, it isn't really a must to speak fluently and solely Filipino. Celebrating it is just enough to prove that you love and value the national language we have.

In our school YES as in OO we are not allowed to speak our vernacular dialect. Only English and Filipino but we cheat.
