My child is entering 6th grade needs a Life Skills class in Phila, pa where can she go?

She was in public school in learning support but didn't do well and her IEP now says she needs a life skills ciriculum. Are they're any charter schools that offer this? Our local public school doesn't offer it and we are getting the run around with the school board.

Your child is entitled to a Free and Appropriate Public Education. That means that the school must provide her with a meaningful education. They are required to provide whatever is listed on the IEP. If they do not have such a program, they need to send her to a school that does, at no cost to the parent. If reasonable attempts to solve this problem with the school do not work, consider hiring an advocate, or filing a complaint with the State Department of Education or with the Federal Office of Civil Rights for Education.
