Is it possible to make venison bacon?

I've never heard of it. And I guess venison would be too lean to make traditional bacon. But they make turkey bacon so is it possible? If so is it any good?

I don't think deer have enough belly fat to make traditional bacon... In fact, I know so. However, I believe one should be able to cure thin strips of back meat and cook it using pork bacon grease to get a reasonable "bacon" effect. Then again, it may just taste like greasy venison jerky.

Yeah their isn't enough fat in it to make good bacon, you could try it, but it would probably be very dry and crunchy.

I have heard some pretty scary stories about how turkey bacon is made... but I don't know if there is any truth behind them.

i think you are right, just not enough fat to make good bacon. even with turkey bacon, they can control how much fat goes into it.
