what is the deal with the yahoo email hacks?
myself and a number of my friends and family have all had our emails corrupted and spam sent out from our emails but the spam email isn't even in our sent folders but if people respond to the email it comes to our address. We do virus and spyware checks and then change our passwords and now two of my contacts have been corrupted again and sending me spam.. what is the deal.

This seems to be an epidemic at this time. I just went through it. Everyone needs to change their password and not open the emails. That keeps it active when they are opened.
Your account has been compromised, Yahoo strongly suggests that you change your password NOW. Then it will stop. Run a virus scan. Alert your contacts not to click any links in the message because it is a virus/worm At one time someone sent you an infected email and they didn't know. Like those forward chain mails. It latched on to your contact list.
