Does the thickness of a storm door need to match the depth of the brick molding?

I am looking to install a storm door on my home (there isn't one there currently). I used the guides on the Larson website to measure the door opening, but I'm a bit confused on how thick of a storm door I can use.

The brick molding on my front door is 1" thick, which is the minimum recommended thickness according to the website. Does that mean that I can only install a 1" thick door? I was looking at the doors on Lowes website, and it looks like most doors were about 1 5/8" thick (except for the cheapest door, and I don't want to install the cheapest door if I can help it).

Does the thickness of the brick molding determine how thick a door I can install?

Brick mold is a pretty standard dimension, the storm door will make up the difference by making the jamb accommodate the dimension. In other words, any standard off the shelf door should work.

Miss Amy, I believe you may be a little confused about storm doors. What you are looking at are probably 1 3/4" entry doors. Storm doors are thin, around 3/4" and installed in addition to the entry door. Either way, neither should be attached to the brick mold but to the door frame itself. You should do more research or talk to the people at Lowe's or a contractor.
