which amongst these has the higest rate of absorption: chalk, charcoal, cement, paper,etc. please give referre?

Please give reference of material referred to my friend is constructing in rainy weather in mountainous terrain and so he wants these facts.

    chalk has the highest absorption , it is a porous material, charcoal has good absorption for gases, cement usually chemically react with water, paper type dictates the margin of absorption

    i wouls say charcoal just because thats what doctors use to absorb poisens if they have accidentally been drank.
