Is it wise for our government to be suing our largest banks at a time when our economy is so fragile?
Please see the article in this link; http://finance.yahoo.com/news/Feds-sue-biggest-US-...
They just bailed out the banking industry and now they want to do this? I find it incredibly ignorant, what is your opinion?
@ Frederic, that also should apply to the government who in fact is the guilty party here, it all started with the "The Community Reinvestment Act of 1977" which should have been illegal.
Liberals never cease to amaze me with their fiscal incompetence and general overall ignorance.
I hope none of you guys need a loan, want a credit card with a reasonable interest rate, want a checking account with reasonable or no fees or want to make a little money on your investments. If you do, you may be in trouble soon.
This is nothing more than loan sharking and government thuggery, they create the mess and want to have you believe it was all the banks fault.

The government was up to its neck in creating the mortgage debacle,
but now it wants to appear as the champion of the little guy:
It's like that story of a guy being sentenced for the murder of his parents:
He throws himself at the mercy of the court by claiming he's an orphan...:-)

I have a feeling that there is more to this story than we have heard.
Did those banks refuse to cooperate with a proposed administration mortgage restructuring program.
If it is all about the sub prime mortgage mess why didn't this happen in 2009?

In my opinion if they willingly ripped people off they need to be held accountable for doing that.
Having said that, it makes me wonder if our government is trying to race us off the edge of a cliff in a way that doesn't implicate them in the whole fiasco.

The banks caused the recession we are in. Using the recession to exempt they caused as an excuse them from accountability is just plain stupid. It's like killing your own parents then asking for mercy because you're an orphan.

Yes. If the bankers hadn't broken the law, they would not be "fragile." Wh do conservatives, with all their rhetoric about law and order, what to give these crooks a free pass. What happened to the conservative talk about "individual responsibility." and morality?

They got the economy in the ****, along with the republicans, with their loose and profligate ways, so time for them to pay up for their financial sins. They're now flush with money, paying their boards and CEOs scandalous amounts of salaries, time for them to pay up for their bail out.
