She took them to hide the alcohol she had been drinking before that. Grissom did find out eventually and she got proper treatment that we never saw but they mentioned it. As for David, he is the coroners assistant.

i'm addicted, lol. I definitely have my DVR set to checklist each and every new episode of all the CSIs and NCIS. i've got seen each and every episode of all 3 CSIs, yet I ignored the 1st season and element of the 2nd season of NCIS.

No, she used them to cover the alcohol on her breath. She was pulled over for a DUI then had a massive row with Catherine and was put on probation. She had to have counselling and that's when we learned about her family.
