Which College is right for me?!?

Okay, so I know choosing the right school is difficult for almost every Senior but I'm stressing out so bad! So I've talked it over with my parents, but they aren't much help because we just keep fighting, and the guidance counselor at my school is no help either. So i'm hoping you guys can help me out! Here's some info: I have a 26 ACT score, most likely majoring in Chemistry, 4.0 GPA, with about 9 hrs of college credit completed at the end of this year. Here are the schools I'm looking at (most of which are in AL where I live):

1. Auburn University - A large University, but totally my dream school. I love everything about it! The campus is great, dorms are awesome, amazing football team, their Chemistry program is spectacular too! But, it's about $24,000/year (total cost) which is extremely expensive. (My parents aren't going to be able to pay for it) Which means student loans, and lots of them:/ Plus it's 4 hrs away from home, which my parents hate. But the distance doesn't bother me.

2. University of Alabama at Birmingham - An awesome mid-size University, known for being a "Medical School" but it has a great Chemistry and Engineering program too. In a big city with lots of stuff going on, so that's cool. Only about 2 or 3 hrs away from home which is just enough distance. It's actually pretty cheap with about $12,000/year (total cost). But the campus is sort of suck-ish because it's really spread out:/ And the city it's in is known for a lot of violence and stuff which is scary.

3. University of Alabama - A great large school! It has a strong Chemistry program and an awesome football team! Plus it's sorta close to home, only about 2-3 hrs away. The dorms are decent, but the campus is sorta spread out. However, the city it's in is relatively safe and the buildings on campus are nice too. I know a lot of kids that go there that used to go to my High school. It's about $20,000/year (total cost) which is sort of expensive, but I could most likely get some scholarships.

4. University of Alabama at Huntsville - A mid-size University about 2 hrs away from home. An amazing school academically: Super strong Chemistry program, Co-op option, great class size. But the campus totally sucks. Nothing there is very nice, not even the dorms :/ But it's in a great city with lots to do, and with tons of Job opportunities! Around $17,000/year (total cost) and I'd definitely get a lot of Merit-based scholarships.

5. Troy University - A small University in the middle of no where. This is where my dad sort of wants me to go though. It's 4 hrs away, and has a decent Chemistry program. I have no clue what the campus even looks like, all I know is it's 2 hrs away from Panama City Beach (woo!). It's about $10,000/year (total cost) and if I get 1 more point on my ACT test i'll get all of my tuition paid. Which is not too shabby...

What do I do?! Please help:)

In the whole scheme of life, when you look back on your college experiences, you are very unlikely to say, "Boy, I wish I had gone to a school with better DORMITORIES." I would apply to all of these, if you can afford to, and wait to see what scholarship offers you get. In the current economic climate, many recent graduates are finding they are unable to find jobs that allow them to pay off college loans readily. Once you graduate you will likely want to eventually settle down, buy a home, etc., and it may be difficult to do that if you are head over heels in debt. You are planning to go into a good field and if you get good grades you may be able to find a job where your employer would pay for you to take a Master's on a part-time basis. I would go for the option which minimizes total cost and minimizes the amount of debt you have to take on. Huntsville sounds good, so does Troy. Include Auburn since it is your dream school, and many private schools offer extensive scholarship support. Good Luck!
