Mike Tyson vs David Tua (Both Prime) ?
I think we would all go with Tyson but could Tyson knock him out ? Tua has NEVER been knocked out (he has fought over 55 fights) and only been knocked down ONCE (when he was 38 yrs old). They can pack a ounch just as hard as each other and Tua has kncoked out two world champions (John Ruiz & Michael Moorer) under 30 seconds first round. So tellme your opinion.

Mike Tyson:
Wins: 50
Losses: 6
Draws: 0
NCs: 2
KO's: 44
Most notable wins: Trevor Berbick, James Smith, Pinklon Thomas, Tony Tucker, Tyrell Biggs, Larry Holmes, Tony Tubbs, Michael Spinks, Frank Bruno (twice), Donovan Ruddock (twice).
In his prime from 1985-1988, he was almost unbeatable. Great speed, great power, great head movement, vicious hooks and uppercuts. He is no doubt in my top 10 heavyweights of all time list. He is one of my favorite fighters. Of course, he is the youngest heavyweight champion of all time, winning the title from Trevor Berbick in 1986 at the age of 20.
David Tua:
Wins: 52
Losses: 4
Draws: 2
KO's: 43
Most notable wins: John Ruiz, Hasim Rahman, Michael Moorer.
He also punches like a monster truck. He has never been knocked out, he has great power, a great chin, he is a great fighter.
The fight
Mike Tyson will come out bobbing and weaving, and most of David Tua's best punches will miss, due to Tyson's constant head movement. Tyson will counter Tua's misses, with his best shots. David Tua will still keep coming, even after Tyson's best shots. This will happen for the first nine rounds. In the tenth round, Tyson will land a right hook to the body, then an uppercut to the tip of David Tua's chin, which will knock him down again. Tyson will look to finish Tua. He will charge at him, trying to finish him off with combinations. Tyson then throws another right hook - right uppercut combinations, which knocks him down again. Tua's face is a bloody mess. Tyson really looks to finish him now, multiple right hook - right uppercut combos, until finally, Tua goes down the third time, prompting the referee to stop it, due to all the punishment Tua is taking.
Tyson TKO10.
Thanks for the question! Great match-up!

well if you're talking about the Mike Tyson from 1985-1989 then Tyson would beat Tua by possible late TKO in RD 9 because Tua may have a diamond chin and a better stamina along with equal power but Tua is a limited fighter if you look at most of his fights. Tua's good but never won a world championship belt and he lost to Chris Byrd and who wasn't really that good.

Tua had all the physical capabilities to beat Tyson, he hit harder in my opinion and obviously has the better chin of the two. But in his "prime" he was far from being in good shape, and like many great punchers like Shavers and McClellan, was so used to going no more than 5 rounds, he lacked stamina and slowed down to a pathetic pace as a fight went on - watch the Lewis one for example.
Tyson is often bashed for his stamina but he was dangerous whenever, whereas Tua, who to some extent was, would often reply purely on his chin to carry him through the later rounds - and do little else. Mike went the distance several times in his career and dominated these fights, he had better stamina than he was given credit.
I'm talking stamina so much because it's key in this fight. Unless Tua would get rid of Mike within the first 4 or 5 rounds I can't see it going his way, and Tua knocking out Tyson early is very unlikely in my opinion.
As I've said, for the first 4 or 5 rounds both men, who are big punchers, fast and quick starters would put on a great show until Tua ran out of gas and Tyson slowed his pace down, stealing mid and later rounds with quick combos that bounce Tua around.
If it wasn't for David's amazing chin I'd say Tyson by mid to late TKO but Tua proved time and time again he can take a punch, so I'll say Tyson by wide decision.
UD12 Tyson

David Tua KO 7
Tyson could knock him out, but not in the first five rounds. When Tyson couldn't get the early KO he fell apart, Tua will keep coming at him and Tyson gets knocked down and doesn't even try to get up in the 7th.

Mike Tyson is too much for him.
Tyson in his prime (1985-88) will simply be too fast and explosive, as well as powerful. Tyson at 85-88 had the Peek-A-Boo style and kept his chin down, and Tyson had one of the BEST chins in Boxing history. The only times he's been knocked out were due to stamina and old age, (old age was where he lost his reflexes). Tyson is a swarmer with non stop aggression, he can open powerful combinations, and whenever he misses he quickly corrects himself and gets an accurate punch. Also, Tua CAN be knocked out. Larry Holmes was never knocked out in his career, up until Tyson. Tyson was the only man to KO Holmes. Now he did KO a 39 year old Holmes, but Holmes even fought at 52 and wasn't KO'd. Tyson also bobs and weaves to much, it'll be hard for Tua to get a clear shot, and he has that powerful Left-Hook. All he needs is a chin shot. Tyson will start off fast and aggressive, bobbing and weaving and throwing combinations, jab, jab and then a left hook. With his aggression and accuracy he gets a head shot and TKOs Tua. Tua goes down. Tyson's aggression, speed, accuracy and power is too much.
Tyson TKO 6.
Tua has that chin but Holmes had never been KO'd and Tyson did it. Nobody else ever KO'd him after or before that.

Mike Tyson at his peak could knock any man out and David Tua is no exception. I think that Tua's iron chin would hold him up till the latter rounds but after absorbing just to much punishment the referee would have to step in and stop the contest in round 11

I think Tua was skilled enough to gain Mike's respect early, Tyson realizes he can't bully Tua, they go 12 and Tyson takes the decision.

First of all, get out of here with this "we would all go with Tyson" nonsense. Tyson is positively the most overrated heavyweight in history. Any talented fighter who would stand up to Tyson would whip him. Tua fits that bill.
No way could Tyson knock Tua out. C'mon people... Tyson couldn't knock out freaking Bonecrusher Smith, how in the world is he going to stop Tua?
Tua wears Tyson down and wins a UD.
