When will apple release new MacBook Pros?

I'm not entirely sure. But I know this, Apple's "Education Pricing" ends September 20th. The importance of this being that one won't be released within the next week and a half. I visited an Apple store this past week, talked to a salesman, and tried to get some dirt on a release date. I am in the same position as you: I want one, but could wait until the new one is out. I did get this out of him, but he didn't seem entirely sure. He said something along the lines of "There are two types of upgrades, a hardware upgrade, and a complete upgrade. The most recent MBP (released in late February) underwent a complete upgrade ("Thunderbolt, graphics, processor, etc.) Likewise, so did the new MBA (released in late July). From what I could deduce, a complete upgrade is followed by many smaller upgrades. In other words, the next MBP will be better, but not THAT much better. I was considering the following strategy though..

1) Buy an "Education Priced" MBP, get the free $100 mac app card, and $100 rebate on a printer (a free printer basically)

2) Return JUST the MBP, keep the card and printer, and get the new one when it comes out.

Of course, I'll need to do some homework on return policies, and if need be, I'll buy it at Best Buy, where the 45 day return policy is quite attractive in this case.

My best guess is sometime in late November, and it will be released with OS Lion, and a few minor improvements.

I'm looking to get one too but i think apple will release the new one in early 2012(that could feature the new Ivy bridge and cover with new design, it's rumor)

still, i should wait.

what do you think, DELL XPS 15 L502 or MBP 2011 13'' i5. ? both cost the same $1200.

Not until there is available hardware to upgrade to. i7 is as high as you can go right now, intel hasnt even started on a new platform yet.
