Usb ports not working?
The usb ports work for a bit while it starts up. Once it gets to the windows logo the mouse's light goes out and the keyboard freezes up. Any ideas how to fix this?

You might need to fix the whole hard drive

Search see if there is a update for the usb ports and your devices attached to them. If no update and still act up, can always add a usb card to the machine. Hard drive has nothing to do with a usb port. Also didnt state if it was ports on board or in case. If it is in case, open side and carefully look see if the cables on case came loose from the motherboard

While the computer is on

Unplug each from the computer USB
.
And plug them both back in
.
It happens every once and a while one or both don't load the drivers when booting up
.
The computer will learn they are always there after a couple of times
.
