Crack addiction - saying goodbye?

My friend Arch is about to kill himself with his crack addiction. We actually dont expect him to make it through this week. Everyone has tried to help him but he just doesn't want help. He's hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, unemployed, depressed, etc. and just wants to end it. It's so sad... is there any last ditch effort we can make to help? He is a grown man so no one can force him to do anything... Thanks.

Try to calm him down , have a talk with him or have like an intervention make him realize what would happend if he did something like that , have a speech bout changing his life starting new getting a job how good things would get if he got better things would be much better make him feel loved wanted just try to make him talk to you about his feelings try to help him out with what he's going thru or thinking

Sorry to seem so harsh but, If you are really desperate you could call the police on him... He would be EXTREMELY angry but assumeing he has drugs on him most of the time they would have to arrest his. He can't get high in prison. Of coarse this would be an extreme measure and he can always go back and get drugs once he is out. Plus maybe he could avoid prison by being mandated to go to treatment. Overall it's a long shot and could cost you a friendship. You have to decide if it is worth taking the risk.... I don't know what I would do in this situation but, Goodluck!

I hate to sound cruel but he needs to be locked ASAP up so he can't hurt himself. He's already killing himself with crack. If he's that close to the edge, only professional intervention is likely to save him and even then, it's not a guarantee.
