Had a cvs test yesterday... Thru the stomach... Wanted to post the reality check for those considering it. It's a great test to get but be prepared. The genetic counselors do not tell you how painful and violent the test is because they know you won't do it. The needle goes thru the stomach and the shove it in and out numerous times wiith great force to collect the samples. Don't go alone, don't wear mascara and don't bring your young children w u to the appt. This will rock you for the rest of the day. I mean even the nurse was crying... Anyone else have this experience?

I am 42 years old. I am a mother of a 10 year old and divorced for 4 years. I recently got engaged to my fiancée when we discovered we were pregnant. Here's the hard part... He is a recovering addict and was clean for many many years. Until the pressure of the pending marriage and baby news. He has since relapsed and the drama is unbelievable. The deception the lies the risky behavior... and refusing to go back to rehab. I do not want to bring a baby into this situation so I attempted to get an abortion..but once I saw the baby on the monitor, I burst into tears and couldn't go through with the abortion. So here I am. Older. Pregnant. New in my career. With a man who is in denial and about to o.d. Single mom with no contact from the previous husband/dad. Also, I am an adult orphan... no extended family to help me raise the child. This is all on my shoulders. Did I make the right choice to keep the baby? Or, am I being really hormonal and have too much

Blind faith? I could just end this drama. But I could just have my last wonderful chance at motherhood again. Your thoughts?

My friend Arch is about to kill himself with his crack addiction. We actually dont expect him to make it through this week. Everyone has tried to help him but he just doesn't want help. He's hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt, unemployed, depressed, etc. and just wants to end it. It's so sad... is there any last ditch effort we can make to help? He is a grown man so no one can force him to do anything... Thanks.

I know a guy who is a relapsed addict and in complete denial. His clean/sober friends have all begged him to return to inpatient treatment, but he insists he can "do it himself". He has part-time joint custody of his children and is in NO CONDITION to be in charge of these kids. He deals drugs at his home and uses while they are in his care. His children have previously witnessed him o.d. himself into a coma and has since gone through treatment and relapsed again. We want to tell the mother and stepfather to not allow the children to go visit with him but also want to give her a legal way to immediately protect herself because he will spin a web of lies to convince her that we're lying to her. (He is very convincing, too). Plus, he's going to fight her tooth and nail. So... would the answer for the mother be to file a temporary injunction to stop the visitations? Can the authorities force him into treatment? At this point, the authorities need to intervene for the safety of these kids and for his safety as well as his in endangering everyone. His sober friends say he is on a "suicide spiral" and have never seen things this bad before. Thanks for your help.

I walked out of my bathroom to find a strange man standing in my living room last night. He said he worked for my landlord and my landlord told him to enter my unit. He had my keys in his hand. I didn't receive any notice, via email or phone. He didn't knock or announce his entry. I have never been in arrears with my rent and have maintained my unit properly. I contacted her and she said she made a mistake and told him to go to the wrong unit. I am a single parent and very distressed over this situation. I feel unsafe and want to move out but don't want to pay anything to move out. My lease doesn't say anything about if my Landlord enters unlawfully, only if I "refuse to let them in" with reasonable notice. Can i move out without penalty?

there is this guy...who works down the street. We email, chat and text each other all day and even sometimes all night after we go home. I finally told him after about 2 months of this, that I like him and like to flirt with him. But he never responds to any of the flirting. I asked him to tell me to stop flirting if he didn't like it. Nothing. But we still talk all day. I even said that it was ok if he didn't like me back and that we would still be friends. Nothing. So I flirt. He doesn't respond to the flirting... but we talk all day. WHAT THE HELL does this mean?

Ok, so my friend had been talking with this guy on the personals for a month and he would always dodge personal questions she was asking. One day, he asked if he could call her. She said yes, gave him her number and he blocked his number when he called her. That was weird. Then, later on, she finally got his number from him but when she called it, he hung up. She asked why and he made up some lame excuse. Anyway, her mom ran a trace on his phone number. It was listed under someone else's name. We googled THAT name and found a different photo of a different guy. So, obviously he is using another guy's pic to run his Yahoo personal ad and even another guy's name. He's a weird freak too. So what do we do now? Do we tell the Yahoo people or what?

If you purposely go to a cryobank with your spouse to get a sperm donor to make a baby, go through all of the levels of psychiatric screening signing tons of legal responsibility papers accepting paternity, and also being on the birth certificate, after the child is born then end up in divorce court years later, can you say you aren't the dad and not have to pay child support?

I recently lost a lot of weight. I am now trying to firm up and build some muscle and not be flabby. I already use a protein powder and seem to be developing muscle pretty well, but I wonder about creatine too? Do i need that?
