    Hi.

To know if your losing fluid in the knee joint,of course? The symptom(s) would likely be that of increased joint pain in the knee,or even sudden onset of knee pain. This would be an indication that the fluid in the knee joint is diminishing from the knee joint. It doesn't happen all at 1 time,it's a slow process for the most part, and takes time. It's painful.

As for the symptom(s) of excessive joint fluid in the knee? Symptom would likely be increased swelling of the affected knee. This would likely be the most prominent symptom.....and,the amount of fluid/swelling can be an excessive amount, and will require draining of that joint. This occurrence can take place in a shorter period of time, and is also painful.

I hope I explained it well enough for you to understand.

    Hope this helps.
