what can I use to remove the glue from a subfloor that has had peel and stick tiles taken off?

this glue is awful, it pulled the sole off my shoes when I was taking the tiles off the floor.

Update:

I plan on having one piece linoleum placed on the floor.

=== what is the next planned flooring ?? what are you going to do once that you remove the glue and then is it more tile ??? == if you are going to use a premium type tile and think that you have to remove this glue -- you do not have to remove the glue just use the ""tile base float"" that will smooth the floor and get it level for new tiles .... tile float is a cement that will cover the subfloor and get the area level and flat for a base to new tiles .... I can see that you are only asking about the glue but, it would help to know the next step that you are planning .... OK ///// the glue remover that you want is in Home Depot ask the paint counter dude to show it to you .............

Scrape it, with a pole type or a rental. Pole type has large blade on end, a rental is kind of the same but mechanical. Pulling up subfloor and just replacing the wood is always an option too, sometimes its easier to spend couple more bucks and save the hassle.
