What should I get my wife for her 50th birthday if I'm angry at her?
We've been married for 15 years, and she's 7 years older than I am. We haven't gotten along in years but we have two kids and I stick it out. She rejects everything I suggest, she has no interest in talking to me, she ignores me or leaves the room. I really don't like being with her anymore because it makes me feel so bad. But now her 50th birthday is coming up and I don't know what to do. My gut feel is to give her a sweater and a package of batteries. That would be thoughtful enough but still lame. I just don't feel like getting her anything good.

Get her something nice. Or as suggested by another, give her a weekend away - maybe a girls weekend.
If its not meant to work out, it won't. But if you still love and respect her you should stil get her something.
Best may be to give her time away - time to decide what she actually wants in life. 50 may be a new beginning for you both.

You two are at a stand still.
She can sense that you are just sticking it out.
Do the opposite.
Give her the gift of appreciation
Give her the birthday of HER dreams.
She needs you to pursue her.
That is what a woman needs. She will see the change , not trust at first, but convince her she is worth it again, make her stop feeling that you are just sticking it out, but looking forward to the time when you 2 can be friends again.

If she doesn't want to be with you... give her what she wants. Give her a weekend of peace of and quiet in the house.
Either take the kids on a mini-vacation by yourself, or better, send them to a sitter for a night or two and YOU take a mini-vacation yourself!
