Unfortunately, yes. I believe that in this era, there is no reason that all people shouldn't be able to fulfill whatever their dreams are. For obviously biological reasons, it is women who will have to bear children but since the men do not have to be out at 4 AM to hunt for dinner, there is no reason they shouldn't share in all; the other phases of home keeping and child raising.

Yes. Without a doubt. Mothers have a tendency to ''educate'' their daughters in housekeeping and homemaking whilst at the same time hunting male out of 'their' territory, thus maintaining a mistique of the Domestic Sciences.

Source(s): My foster mother was a classic example of this type of behaviour, flatly refusing to impart any of her knowledge/wisdom on to any male.

I think the word you really want is modeling. And parents do model for their children. Children will try to imitate almost anything their parents do, including violence.

I've heard from multiple sources that men are doing more housework than they used to. Women wish they would do more, but as long as a woman feels her man is trying she cuts him slack.

By the way, long before Barbi, TV and America, little girls played with dolls, even in the stone age.

    This behavior is deeply embedded.

I don't know that you can teach parenting. I think it's learned by observation. Not many kids are concerned about parenting at a young age. As for housekeeping, that's everyone's job at my house. Everyone should clean up after themselves. It's a decent thing to do for either gender.

No one teaches parenting skills to children.

There are very few housekeeping skills to pass along. The only people who can their own preserved fruit or make their chairs from trees are hobbyists. Housekeeping is a matter of loading and running the machines and operating a vacuum and feather duster. It rquires no skill. Anyone who needs to clean house can learn how online.

Yes. If parents see their sons playing with dolls, they freak out and go get a truck and stick THAT in his hands instead.
