Book recommendations please?

I have asked this question many times before, but I keep running out of books. I've read most of the popular books, my favorites are

Harry Potter

Hunger Games

Maximum Ride

Mortal Instruments

All the Rick Riordan books

Also classics-

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde

To Kill a Mockingbird

Sherlock Holmes

Oliver Twist

Anne of Green Gables series

Shakespeare

I have already tried reading Twilight, Uglies series, Shiver, Evermore; let's just say they didn't appeal to me.

I do not really like romances, so don't suggest any of those.

Update:

@Anney123~ Thank you so much for answering, but I've read The Outsiders already.

    If you liked The Hunger Games, you could try Battle Royale by Koushun Takami, or Lord of the Flies by William Golding.

    You could also try...

    (1.) Divergent by Veronica Roth: http://www.amazon.com/Divergent-Veronica-Roth/dp/0... In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself. During the highly competitive initiation that follows, Beatrice renames herself Tris and struggles to determine who her friends really are—and where, exactly, a romance with a sometimes fascinating, sometimes infuriating boy fits into the life she's chosen. But Tris also has a secret, one she's kept hidden from everyone because she's been warned it can mean death. And as she discovers a growing conflict that threatens to unravel her seemingly perfect society, she also learns that her secret might help her save those she loves… or it might destroy her.

    (2.) Matched by Ally Condie: http://www.amazon.com/Matched-Ally-Condie/dp/05254... For Cassia, nothing is left to chance--not what she will eat, the job she will have, or the man she will marry. In Matched, the Society Officials have determined optimal outcomes for all aspects of daily life, thereby removing the "burden" of choice. When Cassia's best friend is identified as her ideal marriage Match it confirms her belief that Society knows best, until she plugs in her Match microchip and a different boy’s face flashes on the screen. This improbable mistake sets Cassia on a dangerous path to the unthinkable--rebelling against the predetermined life Society has in store for her. As author Ally Condie’s unique dystopian Society takes chilling measures to maintain the status quo, Matched reminds readers that freedom of choice is precious, and not without sacrifice.

    (3.) Delirium by Lauren Oliver: http://www.amazon.com/Delirium-Special-Lauren-Oliv... Lena Haloway is content in her safe, government-managed society. She feels (mostly) relaxed about the future in which her husband and career will be decided, and looks forward to turning 18, when she’ll be cured of deliria, a.k.a. love. She tries not to think about her mother’s suicide (her last words to Lena were a forbidden “I love you”) or the supposed “Invalid” community made up of the uncured just beyond her Portland, Maine, border. There’s no real point—she believes her government knows how to best protect its people, and should do so at any cost. But 95 days before her cure, Lena meets Alex, a confident and mysterious young man who makes her heart flutter and her skin turn red-hot. As their romance blossoms, Lena begins to doubt the intentions of those in power, and fears that her world will turn gray should she submit to the procedure.

    (4.) Sisters Red by Jackson Pearce: http://www.amazon.com/Sisters-Red-Jackson-Pearce/d... For Scarlett and Rosie March, the world is not what it seems. Werewolves, called Fenris, live among them in the form of good-looking men who prey on pretty young girls. When a Fenris attacked the March girls, it killed their grandmother and left them emotionally and, for Scarlett, physically scarred. Since then, they have taken action and revenge. With the help of a friend, Silas, the girls are on a mission—to destroy as many Fenris as they can. This goal becomes more complicated when they try to unravel the mystery behind the pack and prevent the next "Potential" from transforming fully into a soulless, evil monster. Pearce is on the mark with this modern-day retelling of Little Red Riding Hood. Told by the sisters in alternating chapters, this well-written, high-action adventure grabs readers and never lets go. Rosie and Scarlett are true heroines; smart, tough, and determined, but their special bond is put to test when Rosie and Silas's relationship becomes more than just friendship.

    I could go on and one, but here a few. I highly recommend "Sisters Red". :) Good luck with your reading!

    Have you read the Eragon books by Paolini. they are a lot like Tolkien books very little romance mostly action. oh for very light reading the shadow children series they are meant for young children and should only take a day or two depending on how long you have to read to finish the series. It is written by Margaret peterson haddix. Anything by Tamora Pierce I love her Song of the Lioness. again that is targeted for young adults. the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy and the sequel by Eoin Colfer called and another thing. most of John Ringo's books are good. George R. R. Martin's Fire and Ice Saga. the chronicles of thomas covenant but that is a heavy read. anything by Pierce anthony.very light reading is the narnia Chronicles. and I could go on but I will end with His dark materials series. do not judge the eragon or dark materials series by the movies they did not do them justice.

    The outsiders is a good book to read. Here's a summary:

    Ponyboy Curtis belongs to a lower-class group of Oklahoma youths who call themselves greasers because of their greasy long hair. Walking home from a movie, Ponyboy is attacked by a group of Socs, the greasers’ rivals, who are upper-class youths from the West Side of town. The Socs, short for Socials, gang up on Ponyboy and threaten to slit his throat. A group of greasers comes and chases the bullies away, saving Ponyboy. Ponyboy’s rescuers include his brother Sodapop, a charming, handsome high-school dropout, and Darry, Ponyboy’s oldest brother (Darry assumed responsibility for his brothers when their parents were killed in a car crash). The rest of the greasers who come to Ponyboy’s rescue are Johnny, a sensitive sixteen-year-old; Dally, a hardened street hood with a long criminal record; Steve, Sodapop’s best friend; and Two-Bit, the oldest and funniest group member.

    * Really good book and i definitely recommend it! Hope you will like the outsiders (:

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    * Another good read would be: Trapped In ice if your into adventure, history, survival, that kind of stuff. Really good book, read it for a language class project and i LOVED it. Hopefully you will like it and i definitely recommend it to anyone. Here's a summary:
    An adventure story, Trapped in Ice is a fictionalized account of a real 1913 Canadian Arctic expedition that included a 13-year-old girl, Helen, her younger brother, and their seamstress mother. The expedition ran into trouble from the beginning. Abandoned by their leader and frozen in the ice, their ship, the Karluk, drifted away from land. When the ship was eventually crushed, the crew had to make an arduous journey across moving ice to land to await rescue. The ship’s captain, Robert Bartlett, the only one with Arctic experience, made an epic sled journey to Siberia to get help.
    Hope you will enjoy these two books, im not a big reader myself, but I really loved them! (:
