The 'Tea Party' is a result of astroturfing (a practice where one person controls many social media personalities and starts a supposed 'grass roots campaign' it, like almost everything else Americans get wrapped up in is just a sham to make people feel like they are a part of something that will affect change. No, the difference is that before 9/11 people wouldn't put up with government horse manure, but after 9/11 it all became acceptable as long as it's in the name of "fighting terror".
