My only employee has fractured her wrist and will be off for 6 weeks! What should I do?
I run a small cleaning business and my only other employee has fractured her wrist and won't be in work for 6 weeks. I can't really afford to pay her and someone else help out working for me. And I can't really do the work by myself! She also is nearly out of sick days, so I can only really pay her for the days left. Should I let her go and employee someone else? Not sure, first time this has happened!
Just to add she is actually a family member!
And I as I said I can't afford to pay two people at once!

you cant fire her because of a fractured wrist, that can be a bad move as it would have serious consequences.
you should talk to her about the sick pay and how many days she has left (keep her in the know)
then hire someone temporarily or hire a friend or family member until she returns, u can pay them with the wages your employee was going to earn before having the accident and after running out of sick days

in the experience that they did not launch your wrist muscle groups it may well be for they'd have tightened up once you had your fracture so till they're freed up think about that discomfort. To get rid of the discomfort right here's a thanks to launch your wrist muscle groups to launch the tight muscle groups in it: Wrist: With hand resting in the front of you with the palm up, bend your wrist so a thoughts as you may.. Then press into the realm in the back of the wrist, the position they take your pulse, and carry a superb quantity of stress on it. After 30 seconds slowly decrease your wrist so a thoughts as you may, launch the stress yet carry your wrist open for yet another 30 seconds. For suitable consequences loosen up your body first through taking a deep breath and exhaling then stay this unstressed.

Hire a temp, I'm not sure about your countries laws but in America we cannot fire someone for being off due to an illness or injury, however,You don't have to give them the same amount of work once they come back. you can hire someone untill they get better, just make sure the other person knows they are temporary or you can just hire someone and then once she comes back they can both be part time employees untill one of them quits or gets fired.

Maybe, explain the situation to her. Ask if she is willing to not be paid for the 6 weeks that she is off. If so you can hire a temp.

Hire me! I would say if you cant find someone willing to sub for the 6 weeks then youll have to remove her and hire someone full time in her position...not many other options than that

Letting her go or not is your decision, in the meantime you could use a temp service or slap an add in Craigslist for your city. I'm sure someone needs the money whether its temp or permanent.
