Please help me solve this precalc problem.....|x-1| = |2x+2|?

    |x - 1| = |2x + 2|

    ===> x - 1 = 2x + 2 OR x - 1 = -(2x + 2)

    ===> x = -3 OR 3x = -1

    ===> x = -3 OR -1/3

    Substituting each of these solutions reveals that each of them satisfy the original equation, so both are valid solutions.
