Why did Rick Perry call Obama "an abject liar" about the FACT that El Paso is a relatively safe city?

Do we need El Paso to be more dangerous than Minneapolis or Dallas?

I've been to El Paso. I wouldn't live there.

I live 40 miles from El Paso, and the border between it and Ciudad Juarez has been called the most dangerous spot in the world by many entities -- yes, even more dangerous than Iraq or Afghanistan. Hell, they murdered 53 just the other day by nailing the doors of a casino shut and setting it on fire. Ridiculous.

While our ranchers and Border Patrol agents are being gunned down in cold blood in Arizona, Obama is in El Paso making jokes about moats and alligators. That has got to be about one of the most pathetic examples of an out-of-touch President I have ever witnessed. I found it absolutely vulgar.

I am surprised Perry would disagree, even if it were not true. Surely reducing crime in Texas is part of Perry's job?

El Tec - you are not really trying to tell us that obama is responsible for a crime committed in Mexico are you?

Joe - would you care to produce evidence for your claim that kidnapping is more rife in El paso than elsewhere. The only data I could find simply showed El Paso had a lower aggrated assault and murder rate than the nation as a whole.

Kidnappings are a regular occurence in El Paso. Drug gangs kidnap family members in El Paso in order to force people to cross into Juarez and smuggle drugs back into the United States.

Juarez, just across the Rio Grande is much more dangerous than Baghdad

Rick Perry wouldn't set foot in El Paso. Not his kind of people. Nevertheless, the statistics don't lie. It is very safe.

Just listen to john and ken on KFI radio, you can listen on the net. they have done several shows talking with law enforcement and people who live along the border. it's not safe and the president is not telling us the truth...either he's been mislead or he's lying.

The safest city in America with a population over 500,000. I was thinking of moving there a couple of years ago.

I just had a Con call me a liar over an easily provable fact a few questions down. Cons hate facts. Must be why they watch Fox News.
