Werner Syndrome?! (10 points, best answer)?

http://ghr.nlm.nih.gov/condition/werner-syndrome

I'm 14 and I'm worried I might get this awful disease or that I have it.

I've already had growth spurts though.

There is no family trace of this either.

Should I be worried?!

Update:

Elaboration: I'm worried there's a chance I have this. For no reason except that it is possible to be in anyone.

Please elaborate. What exactly makes you worried?

I see. Well then, according to the same logic you are just as (or more) likely to have 1000+ other diseases.

Werner Syndrome is VERY rare, so you are more likely to have cancer, diabetes, atherosclerosis, ASL, Lyme - you name them. Everything is possible to be in anyone.

Plus Werner is genetic. You say nobody in your family has it.

Why Werner? Did you just watch one of those TV shows where the character has Werner?

    Symptoms are:

-lack of teenage growth spurt - you said you had your growth spurt already

    - graying of hair

    - hoarseness of the voice

    - thickening of the skin

    - diabetes mellitus

    - cataracts

    - hypogonadism

    - cancer

    - atherosclerosis

No, you should not be worried.

If this is something that you just have to know - go get DNA testing for Werner Syndrome
